Engine

The 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee has a choice of two powerful engine options that balance performance, efficiency, and towing capability.

First, there is the 3.6L Pentastar® V6 engine, which can deliver up to 293 horsepower. This engine also has Electronic Stop/Start Technology. This feature ensures maximum efficiency by cutting fuel flow and switching off the engine when your vehicle stops. But this powertrain can also tow up to 6,200 pounds, making it a fuel-efficient choice with capability.

If you are looking for more power, the Grand Cherokee also has an available 5.7L HEMI® V8 engine. Providing up to 357 horsepower and 390 pound-feet of torque, this engine ensures you have ample power at your disposal. And when it comes to towing, it has a maximum capacity of 7,200 pounds. This HEMI® V8, despite its output it's also efficient. Thanks to its fuel-saving technology, it can smartly deactivate four cylinders when the full power of all eight isn't required.

Capabilty

The Selec-Terrain® Traction Management System is an innovative feature designed to enhance on-road and off-road experiences for select Jeep® Brand Four-Wheel-Drive (4WD) models. This system lets you change the vehicle's traction settings according to the terrain. By offering modes such as Rock, Sand/Mud, Snow, Auto, and Sport, Selec-Terrain® adapts the vehicle's response to handle various road conditions effectively.

The Quadra-Lift® Air Suspension is a unique system for the Grand Cherokee. It provides the ability to adjust the vehicle's height, whether that's lowering it for ease of access or higher for on-road challenges. The system is faster and more responsive than the previous generation, offering remarkable ground clearance and the ability to ford through water up to 24 inches deep.

4x4 Systems

Three different systems are available to enhance the Jeep's capabilities as needed. They also incorporate a quick-acting front-axle disconnect feature to improve fuel efficiency.

The Quadra-Trac I®, which comes with an active single-speed transfer case for standard driving conditions. Second, there's Quadra-Trac II®, equipped with a two-speed transfer case with options for 4-High and 4-Low, ideal for off-road and tricky maneuvers. Lastly, there's the Quadra-Drive® II Four-Wheel-Drive (4WD) system. This system includes a rear Electronic Limited-Slip Differential and, for the exclusive Trailhawk® model, a sway bar disconnect feature. These systems are optional and can be chosen based on your specific needs.

Laredo

The Laredo is the entry point to the 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee lineup. It's powered by the 3.6-liter V6, delivering 293 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. Standard features include cloth seats, an 8.4-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a rearview camera.

Altitude

This trim is a stylish upgrade from the Laredo. It stands out with black exterior accents, 20-inch black wheels, a body-color grille, fog lights, a power liftgate, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel.

Limited

The mid-tier trim. While it has the same engine as the Laredo, it elevates comfort with leather seats, heated front seats, and a larger 10.1-inch touchscreen that includes navigation. You'll also enjoy an available panoramic sunroof and a superior 10-speaker Alpine sound system.

Overland

Is available with a powerful 5.7-liter V8 engine producing 360 horsepower and 390 lb-ft of torque. On top of the features from previous trims, it adds the option for Quadra-Trac II 4WD and Selec-Terrain systems for better off-road capability, heated and ventilated front seats, and an immersive 19-speaker McIntosh sound system.

Summit

The Summit trim adds luxury to the Overland features. Expect 20-inch wheels, leather seats, 12-way Power-Adjust front seats, and a heated steering wheel. Several safety and security systems are included, and an available premium McIntosh sound system with 19 speakers.

Technology

The 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee provides an entertaining and connected experience for all passengers. It features an available dedicated screen for the front seat passenger to navigate and manage entertainment options, including streaming via the Amazon Fire TV.

The Uconnect® 5 system, with TomTom Navigation on a 10.1-inch touchscreen, allows personalization, multi-smartphone connectivity, and easy navigation. For added safety and convenience in the three-row Grand Cherokee L, there's a rear-seat monitoring camera to help you keep an eye on the back seat occupants without turning around.

For a premium sound experience, an optional McIntosh® sound system is available, with a class-leading number of speakers. This state-of-the-art system delivers high-quality sound through 19 custom-designed speakers, including a 10-inch subwoofer, all powered by a 17-channel amplifier.

Safety

There are an array of safety features for a safe driving experience in the Grand Cherokee. Its optional Active Driving Assist keeps you centered in your lane and at a safe distance from the vehicle ahead when on the highway. The Adaptive Cruise Control adjusts your driving speed to maintain a predetermined distance from the car in front of you.

The Active Lane Management System alerts and corrects unintentional lane drifts and helps avoid potential collisions with vehicles in blind spots. The vehicle is also equipped with Full-Speed Forward Collision Warning with Active Braking and Pedestrian/Cyclist Detection to alert and prevent potential frontal impacts.

To assist with parking, the Grand Cherokee features the Parkview® Rear Back-Up Camera and ParkSense® Front and Rear Park Assist.
